I've just seen this pic on a friend's website of my 5 year old rafting over a weir. I'm sure it was perfectly safe.

RIP Bradman

Bradman, the fantastic black cat who was so often to be seen on the Post Office counter or curled up on the newspapers, died today after being hit by a car.

He wasn't my cat but it bloody hurts.

Canoeing in the Czech Republic

Susie and Poppy have just come back from 2 weeks camping and canoeing in the Czech Republic. Susie has been going with the same group since she was a young teenager and Pops was on her 3rd year, which isn't bad for a five year old. She even has her own paddle. Camping out for two weeks isn't easy anyway, and to do it in the rain with a five year old is pretty good going given that they both came back very cheerful and relaxed.
